Death Dance

Shall we die quiet in the night,
Clinging to the arms of death
Like some long lost lover?

Shall we burn to the ground
Hot in our destruction,
Until the embers fade?

Will we explode, violent
Trapping others in our hate,
If we leave this alone?

We dance on borrowed time
Each day spinning toward sunset
Numb to our aching feet.

And though songs still echo in our ears
And in this hall of stone
The band has ceased to play.
