Downtown Wednesday Morning

After being caught
In a sudden shower,
I walk barefoot downtown.
(some would call me brave)
Past concrete flowers
And their fertilizer of trash.
Waiting for court
Long overdue.
For missteps of love.
It’s her rain that falls
Making puddles
To bathe my dirty feet.
