Working through my shadows-
the past that hangs around
and haunts me in the night.
It tries to brush me aside,
make me less of the woman
I have grown to be.
That past is hungry for my tears,
wants to consume my bright future.
But I have a penetrating gaze!
I have a steady hand!
I have a brilliant Goddess
who guides me through the dark.
