Sleeping Lover

Delirious dreamer into slumber you slip
Sheltered in my arms
Silence settling in layers like sheets

I’m still my restless doubt
Quiet the hunger that grows
And watch your movements grow small

My body revels in the clever joy we cause…
Caresses that threaten to consume
Your hands on my wrists
Shackles of love, alive and electric,
Polished bright with sensuality

Though I leave you to slumber
Your eyes flutter open,
Catch me in my ecstasy
