A Deep Dive into Internal Enslavement

Well over a decade ago, I came across the term “internal enslavement” somewhere on the internet as I did submissive studies. I was a slave then, in a much different relationship than the one I am in now. I think at the time I was fascinated with the concept as it seemed like a deeper form of submission than I felt like I was capable of at the time.

Internal enslavement is a set of ideas about how to take ownership of a slave or how to strengthen the bonds that tie the Master and slave together, in a consensual context. While this type of connection falls under the Dominant/submissive framework, it often represents a significantly deeper connection between Master and slave.

The hypothesis is that there are many submissives who have an overwhelming need to be owned by a dominant. In the context of these relationships, the submissive can be seduced out from the guards and walls that she has established for protection during her life. The Master in this relationship is responsible for creating an environment in which the slave feels safe- emotionally, physically, and mentally and thus creates a bond so deep between them that the slave can no longer break it herself.

This enslavement process is a significant amount of work for the Master. He must achieve a deep understanding of the slave’s emotional and mental processes; this includes her emotional history. Through adjustments to her environment and the relationship, the Master creates a form of emotional bondage…
