Things I’ve Lost

30 day poetry challenge

Memories scurry away like mice,
returning to the ether from when they came.
Flowers fade, full bouquets turn to dust.
Clouds dissipate, leaving no hope for rain.
Little secrets lie forgotten
but still we dance in the kitchen,
still our mouths meet in sublime sunlight.
With all the things we have lost,
our love has remained.
